Petersham Nurseries supports the Real Bread Campaign
Petersham Nurseries is in support of The Real Bread Campaign for a return to all-natural bread. Bread that is better for you, better for your community and better for the world.
Petersham Nurseries Cafe uses organic 100% rye sour bread from the Born and Bread Artisan Organic Bakery which produces excellent bread from their Llopis woodfired oven. Our teahouse uses two different types of loaf, a Pain Ancienne and Rustioue from the Flourish Bakery, an award winning, artisan bakery based in North London.
The bread we use contains Real Bread contains:
Flour, Water, Salt & Yeast
In our bread you won`t find:
Fat, Flour Treatment Agents, such as L-ascorbic acid (E300), Bleach (in flour imported from the US), Reducing Agent such as L-cysteine hydrochloride (E920), Soya Flour, Emulsifiers, including: Diacetylated tartaric acid, Sodium steoryl-2-lactylate (SSL), Glycerol mono-stearate (GMS), Lecithins, Enzymes, including: Amylase - usually alpha-amylase from cereal, fungal sources, Maltogenic amylase - usually from a genetically modified bacterial source. (Bacillus stearothermophilus), Oxidase, Protease - usually derived from fungal sources Aspergillus niger and A. oryzae, Peptidase - from fungal sources, Lipase, Phospholipase, Hemicellulase, Xylanase, Transglutaminase.
